Treasure Isle Board of Directors Candidates Needed

Treasure Isle Homeowners,

There’s only three weeks left for any Treasure Isle homeowner to nominate themselves as a candidate for one of two coming vacancies. One homeowner has sent “an indication of interest” but has not completed and sent the STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY.

THE DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS IS THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 2024

Surely, there are more than two homeowners who want to do their part to make Treasure Isle an even better community.

1.     Passion for the Community: Serving on the board allows you to make a difference and actively contribute to your community’s well-being.

2.     Relationship Building: Board members nurture relationships with neighbors, fostering trust and creating a better living environment.

3.     Vision for the Future: Shape the community’s direction by planning for the next year or two, addressing projects, and fulfilling legal obligations.

4.     Positive Mindset: Stay positive, support fellow board members, and encourage homeowners—your guidance matters.

5.     Inspiring Leadership: Effective boards lead by example, promote association benefits, and create an inclusive environment.

6.     Fulfillment: Witness homeowners achieving goals and accomplishments, keeping the community engaged

The three-year terms of directors Jim Main and John Paredes [serving the remainder of Ravinder Booreddy’s following his resignation from the board] expire this year. Two directors will be elected at the August 15, 2024, Annual Meeting.

THE DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS IS THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 2024

(Candidates will be listed on the ballot in alphabetical order)

As noted above, all directors must be homeowners. The board is composed of seven (7) directors. The term for all directors is three (3) years. The terms are staggered such that each year there are either three (3) or two (2) positions to be filled. Each director holds office until the later of the expiration of the term for which he/she is elected (or appointed) or until a successor has been elected (or appointed) and qualified.

Election by Acclamation.

Notwithstanding the secret balloting requirement of Treasure Isle Homeowners’ Association Election Rules Section 2.2 or anything to the contrary in the Association’s governing documents, if, as of the published deadline for receiving nominations, the number of qualified candidates for election to the Board is not more than the number of directors to be elected, as determined by the Inspector of Elections, then the qualified candidates may be declared elected by acclamation.
